Deployment status

PRE-ORDER, and no evidence of a single delivered unit. NEURA takes a EUR 100 refundable reservation against a published EUR 98,000 price, with availability stated as 'end of 2026' — a date that has already slipped once: in June 2025 CEO David Reger said the 4NE-1 would reach market 'before the end of 2025'. The 4NE-1 Mini's advertised 'Spring 2026' window has also passed with no delivery announcement. Critically, the widely-quoted EUR 1bn order book is NOT humanoids: it was first stated in January 2025, before a 4NE-1 could be ordered at all, and Reger confirmed in July 2026 that robotic arms and cobots still make up the vast majority of revenue, with humanoids accounting for $500m of 'deal value' including one 500-unit order for delivery in 2026 to an unnamed customer. Schaeffler has an offtake agreement to integrate a mid-four-digit number of humanoids by 2035 — an intent, not a delivery. NEURA's shipping business is the MAiRA cognitive cobot and LARA arm lines.

When this hits the labor market

5+ years for the humanoid, and that assumes end-2026 holds. Reger's own July 2026 description of 4NE-1's capability is deliberately modest: pressing buttons, turning switches, putting parts into machines, without changing anything in the environment. That is machine tending, and machine tending is already automatable with a fixed arm at a fraction of the price. The real near-term displacement from NEURA comes from the products nobody writes about — MAiRA and LARA cobots, shipping today into exactly those tasks. Treat the humanoid as a 2028-2030 question and the cobots as a now question.

Europe’s best-funded humanoid, and the order book that isn’t

NEURA Robotics raised up to $1.4 billion in June 2026 — the largest financing round in German corporate history — from Tether, Qualcomm, Amazon, NVIDIA, Bosch, Schaeffler and the European Investment Bank. Reported valuation runs somewhere between €4bn and $7bn depending on which anonymous source you believe; NEURA itself has declined to confirm a number. The company went from 300 employees in January 2025 to over 1,100 by that October.

The 4NE-1 is the machine all that money points at. Gen 3 premiered at Automatica in June 2025; Gen 3.5, restyled with Studio F.A. Porsche, was unveiled at CES 2026. It stands 180 cm, weighs 80 kg, carries 55 degrees of freedom with 12 per hand, lifts 20 kg standard and up to 100 kg in leg-supported configurations, and moves at 5 km/h. Seven cameras, a patented OmniSensor, touch-sensitive artificial skin, and a dual-battery system that NEURA describes as enabling “24/7” operation — though it has never published a battery capacity or a runtime-per-charge figure.

You can reserve one today: €98,000 ex tax for one to nineteen units, €60,000 each at twenty or more, against a €100 fully refundable deposit. That is a real published price with a real checkout, which is why this entry is in the catalog at all.

The number everyone repeats, and what it actually refers to

NEURA’s €1 billion order book is quoted constantly as evidence that European humanoids are outselling American ones. It is not that.

The €1bn figure was first stated in January 2025, at the Series B — months before anyone could place a 4NE-1 order. It cannot have been humanoid orders. The June 2026 restatement is softer still: “orderbook and strategic deployment pipeline exceed $1 billion,” which bundles booked orders with pipeline.

The clarifying quote came in July 2026, from Reger himself: robotic arms and similar robots still make up the vast majority of NEURA’s revenue, and humanoids have accumulated $500 million in deal value, including an order for 500 units to be delivered to one unnamed customer this year. Deal value is not booked revenue and is certainly not delivery. Meanwhile the Schaeffler agreement — genuinely significant — commits to integrating a mid-four-digit number of humanoids by 2035.

One trap to avoid: the May 2026 “1,000+ robot Schaeffler deal” that circulated widely belongs to Humanoid, a UK company, not NEURA.

Neuraverse: the app store that hasn’t opened

The strategic pitch is not really the robot. It is Neuraverse — NEURA’s “app store for robotics” built on NEURON OS, where a skill learned by one robot propagates to the fleet, and third-party developers publish and monetise robot skills. Every NEURA robot runs on NVIDIA’s Isaac GR00T foundation model, and there is a three-way collaboration with SAP and NVIDIA connecting Joule AI agents and digital twins to NEURA hardware.

It is a genuinely good strategy and it is not live. At CES 2026 Neuraverse was open to early-access partners, with the marketplace described in future tense. A platform play with no third-party developers on it is a roadmap.

Why this is filed as pre-order and not shipping

Our editorial rule allows shipping and genuine pre-order entries. 4NE-1 passes on pre-order: real price, real refundable deposit, versioned datasheet, volume tier, and a company with an actual manufacturing business behind it. It fails on shipping: we found no delivered unit, no named customer site, no handover photograph, anywhere.

The slip history belongs in the record. June 2025: market “before the end of 2025.” July 2026: “end of 2026.” The 4NE-1 Mini’s “Spring 2026” came and went. And NEURA’s Automate 2026 release claiming the platform is “already trusted and proven in real-world industrial environments” names no customer and no deployment — that line almost certainly describes the cobots.

Why we care for LostJobs

There is a version of this entry that reads as a warning about German humanoids taking factory jobs by 2027. That version would be wrong, and the reason is Reger’s own words. Asked what the 4NE-1 does, he described pressing buttons, turning switches, and putting parts into machines without changing anything in the environment. That is machine tending — a task that a bolted-down industrial arm has performed for thirty years at a fraction of €98,000.

The displacement risk from NEURA is real but it is wearing different clothes. MAiRA and LARA — the cognitive cobots that generate the vast majority of the revenue and that nobody writes headlines about — are shipping now, into precisely those machine-tending and light-assembly roles, alongside human workers, without a safety cage. The humanoid is a 2028-2030 question. The cobot in the next bay is a this-quarter question. Watch which one your employer is quoting.
