Deployment status

Labeled commercially available on Figure's product page. Two deployments are confirmed. At BMW Plant Spartanburg, Figure 03 arrived in June 2026 for logistics sequencing, after Figure 02 ran an 11-month pilot there. At Catalyst Brands (the JCPenney and SPARC parent), a May 26 agreement starts at the Reno, Nevada distribution center, on sorting and sequencing; neither side disclosed robot counts or a timeline. On production, Figure says BotQ had delivered more than 350 Figure 03 units by April 2026, moved from one robot a day to one an hour, and built its 1,000th in July against a stated target of 50,000 a year. Every one of those numbers is company-reported; we found no independent audit. No public price.

When this hits the labor market

1-2 years for parts sequencing and line-side feeding in automotive plants, where BMW's playbook can be copied by other OEMs. 2-4 years for distribution-center sorting and packing, if Reno produces an efficiency number someone outside Figure can check. Broader light-industrial work is 4+ years out. The missing input is not robot supply. It is an independently verified count of hours worked.

The humanoid that already has a badge

Figure unveiled Figure 03 in October 2025. Eight months later it was on a BMW plant floor.

On June 29, BMW said it would put Figure 03 into Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina for logistics sequencing. Components arrive unsorted in large containers. The robot sorts them into a sequencing trolley, and an automated tugger train carries the trolley to assembly. That is the follow-up to a Figure 02 pilot that ran 11 months at the same plant and, by BMW’s account, supported production of more than 30,000 X3s.

The second customer signed earlier. On May 26, Catalyst Brands said Figure’s robots would start at its Reno distribution center, helping with sequencing on the Joey Pouch sortation system. The contract lets Catalyst scale the fleet up or down with the season. It does not say how many robots, by when, or for how much.

The production numbers are Figure’s own

Figure says BotQ had delivered more than 350 Figure 03s by April, went from one robot a day to one an hour, and built unit 1,000 in July, toward 50,000 a year. In March, CEO Brett Adcock said the month’s output beat the company’s entire prior history, with no count attached.

Nobody outside Figure has audited any of it. The only third-party half-year count we found puts AgiBot at roughly 8,400 humanoids and Unitree at roughly 5,900 for H1 2026, about 75% of the global total between them. Figure is not in that list. Take Figure’s 1,000 at face value and the gap to the Chinese leaders is still most of an order of magnitude.

What it is

168 cm, 60 kg, 20 kg payload, 30 degrees of freedom, five hours of runtime, 1.2 m/s top speed. Those figures come from a trade-press product card rather than a Figure spec sheet, so treat them as secondhand. Palm cameras, fingertip tactile sensors and wireless charging are the changes from Figure 02.

Why we care for LostJobs

The work is specific: take unsorted parts, put them in sequence, feed a line. Take packages, put them into a sorter. These are hourly jobs, run across three shifts, with high turnover.

BMW and Catalyst send different signals. BMW is a carmaker that answers for quality, and it put the robot in logistics, not the weld shop, which tells you it picked forgiving work first. Catalyst signed a flexible contract it can unwind. Neither has published a cost per robot-hour.

If you sequence parts or sort parcels for a living, watch two things: whether Catalyst names a unit count at Reno, and whether BMW turns one robot in Spartanburg into a row of them.
