Shipping at the largest verified scale of any Western-listed humanoid maker. Mass production and delivery began 17 Nov 2025; UBTech delivered 1,079 full-size humanoids in FY2025 (up from 10 units in 2024), generating RMB 821m — 41.1% of group revenue. Cumulative booked orders passed RMB 1.4bn (~US$195m) for FY2025. Over 80% of 2025 deliveries went into factories. Named deployments: BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou, Geely, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Foxconn, SF Express, Zeekr (dozens of Walker S1 units across its 5G smart factory), Texas Instruments, Airbus (agreement Jan 2026, early concept testing), Rossmann Germany (year-long logistics pilot from Mar 2026), Terra Robotics as exclusive DACH distributor, and live customs duty at the Fangchenggang crossing on the Vietnam border since Dec 2025. The 2026 target is 5,000 units, but as of July 2026 plant utilisation was reported below 20% of 6,000-unit capacity, and no 2026 YTD delivery figure has been disclosed. UBTech is not profitable: FY2025 net loss RMB 790m on RMB 2.01bn revenue.
When this hits the labor market
1-3 years in automotive and logistics, where the machine is already clocked in. The differentiator is not dexterity, it is the autonomous hot-swappable dual-battery system: the Walker S2 walks itself to a station and changes its own pack in under three minutes, with sub-50ms primary-to-backup switchover. That is the feature that converts a robot from a demo into a shift worker, because it removes the human who used to plug it in. Set against that: UBTech is burning money, its factory is running below 20% utilisation, and it has not disclosed a single 2026 delivery number. The technology is ready for the jobs it is aimed at; whether the company survives long enough to saturate them is a separate question.

The robot that changes its own batteries
Every humanoid maker claims 24/7 operation. UBTech built the boring mechanism that actually delivers it. The Walker S2, launched 23 July 2025, carries two hot-swappable battery packs that charge and discharge simultaneously, and when one runs low the robot walks itself to a swap station and changes its own pack — under three minutes, positioning repeatability within 0.3 mm, primary-to-backup switchover under 50 milliseconds.
It is not a glamorous feature. It is the one that matters, because the thing standing between a humanoid and a real shift roster was never dexterity. It was the person whose job was to plug the robot in.
The rest of the machine is competent rather than exotic: 1.76 m, around 73 kg, 52 degrees of freedom (up from 41 on the Walker S1), 15 kg payload, 2 m/s walking speed, a waist that rotates ±162° across a 0 to 1.8 m working envelope, and binocular stereo vision with deep-learning depth. The hand carries 19 active degrees of freedom in under 1.2 kg, rated to sub-millimetre precision over 80,000-plus cycles. UBTech has never published a battery capacity in watt-hours, which given that battery handling is the product’s headline feature is a curious omission.
The traction is real, and so is the loss
UBTech listed on the Hong Kong exchange in December 2023, the first humanoid robotics company to do so, and its FY2025 numbers are the most auditable figures in this catalog. Full-size humanoid deliveries went from 10 units in 2024 to 1,079 in 2025. Revenue from that line went from RMB 35.6m to RMB 821m, a 22-fold increase, and now accounts for 41.1% of group revenue. Cumulative booked orders crossed RMB 1.4bn. Over 80% of the machines went into factories.
The customer list is the strongest in the category: BYD, Foxconn, Zeekr, Geely, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Dongfeng Liuzhou, SF Express, Texas Instruments. In 2026 it went international — an Airbus agreement in January, a year-long Rossmann logistics pilot in Germany from March, a Siemens manufacturing partnership, an exclusive DACH distributor in April, and a Hitachi partnership in July. Since December 2025, Walker S2 units have been doing live customs work at the Fangchenggang border crossing with Vietnam.
Now the other column. UBTech lost RMB 790m in FY2025 on RMB 2.01bn of revenue. As of July 2026 its plants were reported running below 20% of a 6,000-unit annual capacity, against a stated 2026 delivery target of 5,000 units — and the company has disclosed no 2026 year-to-date delivery figure at all. The stock is down roughly 35% year-to-date. This is a company shipping real robots into real factories while losing money on every one.
Co-Agent, BrainNet, Thinker
Walker S2 is the first industrial humanoid to run UBTech’s Co-Agent system, which handles intention understanding, task planning, tool use and autonomous anomaly handling — turning each robot into a function-specific agent, a transport agent or a sorting agent, within a fleet. Above that sits BrainNet (群脑网络), a swarm framework pairing a large multimodal “super brain” for task allocation with a Transformer-based sub-brain for cross-robot perception and coordinated control. It was first demonstrated at Zeekr in March 2025 in what UBTech called the world’s first multi-humanoid collaborative training run. Thinker, a 4B-parameter vision-language model built on Qwen3-VL, was open-sourced in January 2026 under a non-commercial licence.
A note on our own catalog
Until today this catalog listed UBTech only through the UWORLD U1 — the silicone-skinned consumer companion robot launched 30 June 2026, priced from RMB 119,800, with first shipments scheduled for 16 September 2026. That entry is correct and stays as a pre-order. But listing U1 alone misrepresented UBTech’s position: the U1 is the company’s self-described second growth engine and has shipped zero units, while Walker S2 is the product that generates 41% of revenue and has over a thousand machines on factory floors. Walker S2 is the flagship. That was our error and this entry fixes it.
Why we care for LostJobs
Of every machine in this catalog, the Walker S2 is the one with the shortest distance between “exists” and “replaces a shift.” It is deployed at named automotive plants, in a German retail distribution centre, and at a national border checkpoint. It works nights because it refuels itself. And its buyers are not research labs indulging curiosity — they are BYD and Foxconn, companies that buy automation on payback periods.
The honest caveat is financial rather than technical. UBTech is selling these at a loss, at under a fifth of its capacity, into a 2026 target it is unlikely to hit. If the humanoid market cools, this is a company with a large factory and a large deficit. But the deployments already booked do not un-happen if the share price falls, and the customs officers at Fangchenggang are already working alongside one.
