Accenture, SAP and Vodafone Just Piloted a Humanoid Robot in a Duisburg Warehouse. The Giveaway Line in the Press Release: It Will 「Lower Overtime Costs and the Dependency on Temporary Labor」.

Three of the largest IT and telecom brands in Europe used Hannover Messe 2026 to announce that a humanoid robot has been doing warehouse inspections inside Vodafone Procure & Connect's Duisburg facility. The pilot is pitched as 'safety-enhancing.' The press release also says, out loud, that it will reduce overtime and temp-labor spend.

Munich-based RobCo unveiled Autonomous Alfie at Hannover Messe this week — a bimanual humanoid pitched at Level 4 autonomy and sold via Robotics-as-a-Service. First customer deployments land later in 2026. It's the day the variable-factory-work supervisor job got a real competitor.
