At a State Council briefing on October 19, MIIT's technology director Wei Wei said China's humanoid makers produced more than 40,000 units in the first half, from over 400 models, and that output will pass 100,000 for the year. He also said the ministry will build an industry monitoring system.

The International Federation of Robotics released its World Robotics 2026 report on September 24: China installed 354,000 industrial robots in 2025, up 20% and 59% of the global total, while the EU's installations fell 11% and the US, up 12% to 38,500 units, passed Japan into second place worldwide.

Reuters reports the CSRC's informal humanoid-IPO slowdown, first surfaced September 9, has widened: at least six companies including AGIBOT and Deep Robotics are affected, and some issuers could lose 60% to 70% of revenue if local-government-backed orders were stripped out.

China's National Data Administration said it will develop standards for embodied-AI data, ten days after seven companies asked it for exactly that. CAICT estimates these models need roughly 10 million hours of real-world data. Between 100,000 and 1 million hours exist worldwide.

Reports on September 9 say the CSRC has informally raised the bar for humanoid IPOs. The number disclosed the same day matters more: under 10% of Unitree's 2025 revenue came from industrial applications.

XPeng started its humanoid robot line on September 8, with IRON walking off it after assembly. The load-bearing number is 80: the share of core processes on that line that run without a person.

A Reuters investigation published August 31 puts Chinese government purchases of humanoids and related gear at $230M in the first half, against $62M a year earlier and $6M in 2024. In the training center those purchases funded, an experienced operator produces one usable movement per 50 attempts, and the robots work at roughly 20% of human speed.

Under the draft, when full autonomy is switched on, the manufacturer handles the violation. The seat stops needing someone qualified to receive it.

XPeng named a valuation for its humanoid business on August 24, alongside Q2 earnings. The number to read isn't $6.3B. It's where the money sends IRON to work: the showroom floor, not the plant floor.

A CAICT report surfaced on August 21 puts more than 70 embodied-AI training grounds in operation across China by the end of June, with 46 more under construction or planned. Industrial manufacturing appears in 86% of them.

The 2026 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Report landed on the World Robot Conference main stage on August 20 with a headline figure: more than 40,000 units shipped in China in the first half, 97% of the global total. Elsewhere that same 40,000 is called production, not shipments.

The 2026 World Robot Conference opened August 19 in Beijing's Yizhuang district. The figure disclosed alongside it: Chinese robotics firms above scale booked more than 90B yuan in revenue from January through May, up 26.9%. On the floor, one welding system is already running near-unmanned inside a Korean shipyard.
