#mass-production · How Robots Are Reshaping Work

UBTech said on September 13 that its Liuzhou super smart factory has started production, designed for annual capacity above 10,000 industrial humanoids, with one unit rolling off every 10 minutes. The 14,000-square-meter plant was built jointly with Siemens Digital Industries Software.

UBTECH unveiled the UWorld U1, a full-size consumer humanoid priced from $17,600, claiming 11,000-plus orders since June 2 and first deliveries on September 16.

AGIBOT says its 15,000th robot has rolled off the line, capping a production ramp that went from 1,000 to 15,000 units in roughly a year.

BYD's executive VP confirmed the carmaker is developing humanoid robots and could sell future household units through its dealer network — but gave no timeline, specs, or targets.

Chinese firms shipped over 13,000 humanoids in 2025 and claim 85% of the global market, but experts told the AP most remain performative, not functional — demand lags the capacity to build them.

Matrix Robotics unveiled MATRIX-3 at Macao's BEYOND Expo on May 28 — 27-DOF hand, 4-hour runtime, Shanghai factory commissioned, 100K-unit production target by 2027.

Agibot moved its G2 deployment at Longcheer's tablet line from 「livestream demo」 to operational metrics: 99.9% success, 310 units/hour, ~19s cycle, 36-hour line integration, 24/7 shifts. Q3 target: 100 robots, plus expansion into automotive, semiconductors, and energy.

On May 6, Boston Dynamics posted a YouTube short of the production-spec Atlas hitting a clean handstand and an L-sit — the first time the mass-produced version has been seen moving. The Savannah Metaplant deployment is still scheduled for 2028.

Figure says BotQ now ships one Figure 03 per hour — 24x throughput in 120 days, ~60 → ~120 → ~240 monthly units Feb-Apr, 350+ cumulative, 80%+ first-pass yield. The production line is real. The deployment line is still mostly BMW Spartanburg.

On April 28 Apptronik dropped five executive hires from Waymo, Boston Dynamics, Amazon, iRobot, and Paramount+ — and quietly teased a new humanoid that is not Apollo. The CPO is the man who shipped Waymo's autonomous ride-hail. The SVP of Services is the man who took Spot from R&D to fleet revenue. Read together, the package is the operational scaffolding for fleets, not prototypes.

Lingyi iTech's Beijing super factory rolled its first batch of Tiangong Ultra and Tiangong 3.0 humanoids off the line on April 17. Stated capacity: 10,000 units in 2026, 20,000 in 2027, 500,000 by 2030. North American AI and robotics firms are already placing bulk ODM orders.

It took Agibot nearly two years to build its first 1,000 humanoid robots. It took three months to build the last 5,000. The exponential curve just showed up for work, and it did not bring snacks.
