Greggs Proposes 740 Job Cuts as Sales Rise 7.7%. AI Isn't Mentioned

On September 30 Greggs proposed closing four manufacturing sites with about 740 jobs at risk, at a cost of around £60m and savings of about £20m across 2028 and 2029. The same statement reported sales up 7.7% in the quarter to September 26. No source names AI or automation as a reason.
